S. from Mississippi Southern College, Mrs. Moss capahly instructs stu- dents in bookkeeping and gen- eral business. nv 'Q A familiar face at Smith-Cotton is that of MRS. BETTYE MUR- RELL, the school nurse. Mrs. Murrell has her R.N. degree from St. Johns Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas and she has done graduate work at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. An addition to the faculty this year is MR. DONALD PAR- MAN, who has a B.S. from Central Missouri State College. Mr. Parman, wh o teaches American problems and Ameri- can history. is also the schools publicity director. Appreciation of T e Fine Arts MISS CATHERINE RINER, with a B.S. in Education from Central Missouri State College, diligently teaches grammar and literature to her freshman Eng- lish students. Miss Riner also helps develop the talents of her student poets. is Stimulated in arious Classes. Dolly Alexander works with oils in art class. The boys prepare to sing in second hour glee club. 17

LOUISE McKEE, who has a B.S. in Education from Central Missouri State College, prepares home economics stu- dents for the future by teaching them the intricacies of sewing and cooking. Mrs. McKee is al- so co-sponsor of the junior class. MRS. MARY IWADDOX is an- other Smith-Cotton teacher pre- paring girls for the duties of homemal-ting. Mrs Maddox, the well qualified sponsor of Smith-Cotton's chapter of the Future Homemakers of Amer- ica, has a B.S. in Education from Central Missouri State College. Homemaking Studies -MSM, MR. EMERSON MATTHEWS, a teacher of industrial arts and co-sponsor of the stage crew, is always willing to help any Smith-Cotton student. Mr. Mat- thews has a B.S. in Education from Northwest State College and an M.E. from Colorado A. and M, Students can see MRS. HELEN MITCHELL going through the halls carrying Shakespearean theatres and student composi- tions from class to class.
