Facult MHS. THELMA COOK, who has an A. B. from Park College and an M. A. from the University of Missouri, teaches senior English and sponsors the senior class and the Archives Staff. To her, we. the staff, pay a special tribute, for with- out her untiring patience and excellent guidance there would be no Archives for Smith-Cotton. We thank you Ma- ma Cook. MH. RALPH DOW, known far and wide as Stub . directs the physical education program for boys and is coach of the Tiger football squad. He has a B. S. from Central Missouri State College and a M. S. from Colorado Uni- versity. li MISS IDA CRUZAN teaches algebra and is much interested in the welfare of the junior high school. She has a B. S. and an M. in Education from the Uni- versity of Missouri. MR. BOB CUMMINGS directs the jun- ior band and assists in the music de- partment. He is known for his amusing remarks in the music room and his cool trumpet at all the dances. He has a B. S. from Central Missouri State Col- lege and a M. M. from Northwestern ,L.4zMML' University. Never before in the history of Smith-Cotton has the Latin language aroused greater interest and recogni- tion. Through the efforts of Mr. Allen there are now five Latin classes and even a newly organized Latin club. Here we see Mr. Allen contemplating his second year students' translations of Caesar. MR. BOB EDMUNDSON teaches eighth grade arithmetic and general mathematics, and he is assistant foot- ball and basketball coach. Curley Bob is famous for his hearty laugh. He has a B. S. in Education from Central Missouri State College and an A. M. from Colorado State Teachers College. ll

MR. I. WILEY ATKINS, known as MR. WILFRED BELL, teacher of MR. ELBERT BLAIR, who teaches C. Facult i Mr. Iaeger's second hour chemistry class looks enthralled by their new findings. Papa Atkins to the seniors and to five children of his own, teaches Amer- ican problems and is co-sponsor of the Senior Class. He lugs a huge brief case full of learning. Mr. Atkins has a B. S. in Education from Southwest Missouri State College and an A. M. from the University of Missouri. 10 MR. IOHN ALLEN teaches Latin and sponsors the Latin Club. He has a B. S. from Southeast State College and an M. A. from Iowa University. His sincere, forceful manner commands the respect of all. MR. FORREST ARNALL teaches bi- ology, is track coach, and is cosponsor of the L-Club. His laboratory jacket and his funny jokes are his trade-mark. He has a B.S. from Missouri Valley Col- lege. French and mathematics, is affectionate- ly known as Doc Bell. He has a B. A. and an M. A. from the University of Missouri. He loves sponsoring the pretty ushers and writing puzzling French notes in the students' annuals. O. E. English, speech, and dramatics is a sponsor of the National Forensic League. Between plays and forensic ac- tivities he is a very busy man. He has an A. B. from Northwest State College.
