Smith-Cotton Tigers are raring to go. Account of '56 Grid Season September 14. - - - Opening the 1956 grid season, the Smith - Cotton Tigers defeated a sur- prising Fulton eleven, 7 - 6. Smith - Cotton plaved their best game thus far in the season but inexperience again cost the Tigers the game. The Tigers were trailing 13-U as they went into the dressing room at half time, but came out the second half an inspired team. The Tigers out played Sprinafield the whole second half: but, when the final gun sounded, the score stood 19-14 in favor of Springfield. New- man and Gates scored for the Tigers.
