DANIELS MCCOLEY leilermen VINCENT SCHUSTER AYRES FLINT Bl BLICKENSTAFF SMITH MURPHY 2 Captain for the 52 football season will be Wendell Peterson replacing Larry Cates The Redmen chose a new system of electlng a capta1n for next year There w1ll be one permanent game captain and they will choose a dlfferent co captaln for each weeks game NORTON there Norton crossed the Redmens goal lme for the first time 1n three years as the Redmen went down to defeat 20 0 This was the first game of the season and It showed that the Redmen team was unexperienced Norton had a fast movmg team w1th a very good passer whlch helped them gam many yards agamst S C BELLEVILLE here Showlng conslderable 1mprovement over the previous game played the week before, the Redmen won thexr first game of the sea son from Bellevllle 21 7 Wurster made the first touchdown of the season runnmg 34 yards to pay d1rt He made one more touch down m the nights play Cates crossed the goal lme for the second score of the season running 50 yards through the mlddle of the Belleville team

Redmen Spiral Begins Wilh Early Fishing Trip On August 28 the S C Redmen football team got together for a fishmg trlp to the rlver and from that t1me on they were as soclated together throughout the 51 football season With only one startlng letterman back the coach had to do a lot of work to wh1p the team in shape The Redmen were a green and unexper1 enced team when they started out the season but they all stuck together and fought 11ke seasoned veterans at the close to get their record of 3 w1ns and 6 losses Whlle this lsnt the most 1mpress1ve record the team found out that wmmng and loslng 1snt all that they play the game for Followmg are the seniors who played the1r last game for old S C Hxgh Ben McV1cker Lynn Gardner Bernard Gnfflng J C Chance Dee Lambert Duane Bhckenstaff and Larry Cates GRIFFING CATES Redmen CRAIG D BLICKENSTAFF GARDNER MCVICKER PETERSON BARRY WURSTER I 'fi , li r e M - I I I l
