Foreword During the proceeding year we have often wondered if the day would ever come when the 1951 Saxigena would be completed. Now that it has, we find ourselves in the confusing situation of being both elated and expectantly anxious. To further explain our feelings we would like to tell you a little more of the heart and soul of the book which you are now reading. This Sax” had its beginning in the spring of 1950. With the help of the preceding staff we were initiated into the problems of yearbook planning. During the summer, however, planning really began in earnest, and we came back to school eager to get to work on the actual book. We will never forget the splendid co-operation which we received from the Seniors, Administration, Faculty, and Underclassmen. Without their help our task would have been impossible. Our main purpose in creating this edition of the “Sax” has been to provide the class of 1951 with a book which they will keep all their lives to remind them of their college days. If we have only succeeded in this respect, all our efforts will have been more than worth while. Therefore, it is our pleasure to present to the class of 1951 their Saxigena. It has been an honor to have had the privilege of creating it for you. Our only hope is that it meets with your approval.
