1 E ' 3 5 S I I Eli ' REMEDIAL TYPING. This program is designed to help students having difficulty with the subject. Guest star Lisa Smith wonders, What happens if I push this thing? M3 CLOTHING CON STRUCT- ION AND NEEDLE WORK. Program involves student projects. Students will learn how to sew, knit, crochet, etc. The suspense thickens as Carol Krause tries to locate which part of the machine is etc. ROOM METAL SHOP was created for ,hh people who have never had metal shop. In this episode, Ron Anthony and Todd Lauer trap themselves in a project they have been working on. MUSIC THEORY is open to all students who wish to learn ' more about music reading, listening, and writing. In this performance Tammy Blose would rather B natural and C flat. -

Slatington High School students compete in many places besides the athletic field, provlng they can compete in the classroom and behlnd the lectern as well as on the basketball court or the football field Our Debate team finished below 500 for the year, but ended strongly The semi final team of Kurt Bellhorn, Warren Bell, Suzette Nanovlc, and Lynn Altrichter Cshown at rightb flnished third in a lO- team field, barely mlssing a chance at the championship by a lflO of a point Slatington continued to field the larg- est debate team in the Lehigh Valley, and with no graduatlng seniors, the team should continue to improve next year Under the direction of Mrs Roeder, the Scholastic Scrimmage team of Chris Cunfer Tom Staskowski, Warren Bell, and Mike Rau compiled a fine record, topping two area hlgh schools before loslng to the eventual champions from Allen Hlgh School SHS students used thelr mouths as well as their head in interscholastlc competition Mlchelle Lorah Copposlte page, lower leftb and Michael Peters attended the German Declamatlon contest held at Moravian Col- lege, and Michelle finished flfth In the Voice of Democracy competitlon, Suzette Nanovic finished first in the school cone petition, followed by Gwyn Smlth and Tammy Parsons Suzette went on to capture a 3rd place ln the V'F W district competition Under the dlrection of Mr Canning Cleftb the National Honor Society inducted many new members at its assembly, and also initiated a tutoring program 1978 79 DEBATE TEAM Seated CL to RD Lynn Al trichter, Tanya Evans, ree Miller, Eileen Klase, Mary Bechtel, Suzette Nan ovic, Tammy Parsons Standlng John Stettner Laurie Loch, Mlchele Schuc Mike Rau, Robin Baus, Mr Ingnmndson, Len Bechtel, Charlene Snyder, Wendy Dil liard, Warren Bell Absent Kurt Bellhorn, Llz Edman, Lee Llchtenwalner k DEBATE
