Leonard Krause Slatington The hobbies of S.H.S.'s mighty little halfback vary from hunting and fishing to art. After Lenny is finished with his homework he goes on short hikes to Walnutport to teach Tully how to jitterbug. Lenny has an ambition to become a draftsman. Although Anna seems very quiet, she has many friends. She also has a winning personality. She enjoys swimming, hiking, listening to the radio, and bicycling. To become a success in life is her ambition and we know that she will succeed. Anna Leibensperger New Tripoli Ruth Lilly Slatington There is never a dull moment when Ruth is in the crowd. This peppy gal is head of the majorettes and excels in sports. Her hobbies are dancing, skating, and the one that ocoupies most of her time talking. To be a carefree traveler is her ambition. Blondie Locher is one of our students who travel to and from school on a dull bus. In her Senior year, Winifred was elected to Presidency of the F.H.A. We wish her the best in her future occupation as a dressmaker and designer. Winifred Locher Slatington Miriam Merkel Slatington Shv Miriam is usually seen in classes but hardly ever heard. She spends her leisure time in horseback riding, skating, and listening to the radio. We all wish Him luck in whatever phase of life she journeys into. Day-dreaming (about whom we wonder?), danoing, and reading is how Gladys spends her leisure time. If you havb any ailments, just see Gladys. She plans to be another Florence, Nightingale. Here’s to success. Gladys Miller New Tripoli Girls, do you need a new face and hair-do? If so, contact Joanne, who plans to have that Salon where you can aoquire the new look . In her spare time, Joanne contents herself by skating, reading, and playing tennis. One of our newcomers this year is Dorothy. In school, Dot seems very shy around boys. We’re wondering whether she's like that out of sohool too. With her sweet personality, sense of humor, Joanne Minnioh and efficiency, we’re sure she'll succeed as a Walnutport beautician. Thomas Morgan Slatington Tots , as most of his fellow classmates call him, has successfully led the senior class of '48 through a prosperous year. Sports and reading take up much of our president's time, but however he is looking forward to the years when he can be a success in life. Donnie is the quiet type. It seems that he enjoys swimming, roller-skating, and pool shooting better than making a lot of noise. Donald wants to help Uncle Sam preserve peace by making the United States Air Corps his profession. David Nissen Slatington Dave is a tall, dark, good-natured fellow who moves along the corridors with those long springy strides. Hunting and fishing seem to appeal to Nick in his spare time. He wishes to follow the footsteps of his father and be a painter and a paper hanger. Marvy Olewine is one of the more successful debators. It looks like Marv is connected with engines forever beoause to work on motors is not only his hobby but his ambition. Easy on the new Hudson, Marv . Oplinger is another one of those quiet guys who drives around in a blue jeep. Harvey likes to collect flowers, hunt, and fish when he has nothing else to do. Soon he hopes to journey into the wilderness and become a lumberjack. Harvey Oplinger Walnutport Driving a car, attending movie pictures, and listening to the radio comprise the great part of Harold’s leisure hours. Oswald is one of the good-natured fellows who can take a joke as well as play one. Carl Peter6 New Tripoli To be a successful business man is Carl’s ambition. However in the meantime he spends his time playing baseball, ice skating, and rollerskating. A certain blond will also be cut in on those business profits, eh, Carl? Queeny is one of the jokesters of the senior class. Never can you find this guy without a ready smile. After Elden gets tired of shooting pool and playing football he decided he's going to join the navy.
