After an examtnation wh1ch we had 1n the mlddle of December 55 twenty one of us one hundred stxty boys and g1rls were recom mended as exchange students After that we had to answer many forms whlch were sent to the Amer1can Field SCFVICC offtce tn New York They make the last exanunauon. S1x months later tn J' une 1956 I got the very pleasmg message that I was chose.n as an exchange On the 6th of August 1956 I took leave from my famtly and my house tn Hamburg Western Germany My Parents my ten year old brother and I11ve tn a modern apartment we all care much for each other On week ends we go to our mce week end house tn a nearby wood There we can rest from the busy week and Ihave the very good opportumty and plenty of nme to watch the ammals whtch Iltke very much.
