Coached by Morris Shepherd and Mike Convis, the thinclads headed for a good showing in the North Bay League. Competing with strong con- tenders in Tamalpais and Santa Rosa, Drake placed its faith in returning let- terman from last year's cindermen and greatly improved members of former squads. During the first meet of the season, Rich Benz, Mike Healy, and Jack Rankin set three new school records.
