The I955 B and C track teams, under the leadership of Coach Mike Convis, a newcomer at Drake, be- gan practice at the beginning of the spring semester. Afull schedule of high school competition was planned with thewindup being the North Bay League champion- ship meet scheduled for May 7. Begmmng the season on March Il, the Pirate mer men swam their way to a decnsuve victory over a well Coach Bob Fnzhenry stocked St. Ignatius team, 50 24. The fast pace was kept up throughout the fourteen practice meets which followed. On Saturday, May 14, the Plrate swimmers en tered league competition ln the North Bay League meet. The North Coast Section meet was scheduled for May 20 21 at Santa Clara. Returnees for the Drake swnmmmg team from last year's squad Included Dave Shanley, John Skov, Jim Ho bart, Dave Allen, Roy Domke, Tom Hazeltme, Gil Schott, Norm Taylor, and Arlelgh Wnlllams.
