I work every Monday, Tues- day, and Friday night from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. I really like work- ing nights better than in the day- time because if I have something to do during the day, I can do it and not miss work. It gives me more time to do things. I've never heard of anyone else working nights while going to school, so I feel that my job is very unique for a high school student to have, said senior Tim Johnson. Photo by Gail Etzenhouser. JOBS CUSTOMERS 1 Laboring towards future Going through a day of school can often be very men- tally and physically draining. One's first thought when that 3:05 bell rings is usually to go home, pull out a can of pop, and plop down in front of the television just to relax. But to many, the day is over, but the night has just begun. When asking several people about keeping up with school work while having a job, a per- son could find disadvantages and advantages. Sophomore Gail Etzenhouser, who works as a secretary for her dad, said, The disadvantage of a job is that I have less spare time, but I have more spend- ing money. lt's somewhat difficult to have a job and keep up with your grades, but the money is great to have, said junior Debbie Brungardt. I really enjoy my job in spite of having very little time to spend with my friends. I have the money, but I just don't have the time, were re- marks from sophomore Tere- sa Rohn about her job at Wehner's IGA. So a person finds that hav- ing a job and going to school can encounter many disad- vantages and advantages.
