IAYETTE8 The Kayette Organization, while only astablished last year, has every girl in high school as a member and is an ambitious and active group The girls meet once every two weeks in a regular meeting Varied programs are presented at these times A program on hobbies was one of the outstanding ones of the year A scrapbook is being maintained of the Club' activities A cabinet, consisting of four elected offdoers and seven appoint ed directors, direct the activities of the club u der the sponsorship of Hrs Johnson and Hrs Anderson After the officers were duly elected and installed last fall, an lnitla tion was held for the new members and sponsors In October a Hobo Hike proved as an interesting activity Gaily dressed 'hoboes' tramped around the lake in search of hidden clues which finally brought them back to the school l house where a lunch was discovered In December four delegates: Dorla Boyer, Barbara Kitchell, June Snavel Arnita Boyer and Irs Johnson attended a Kayette Conference at Marysville Stimulating meetings were an inspiration to all who more worthwhile things in the 'home organization Kayettes at Silver Lake will be able to achieve the this year one thousand point party, including gift exchange, refreshments, Santa the high lights of the Club's Activities The girls enjoyed carolling evening before Christmas Claus and all, was attended to try to achieve It is hoped that the award one of 0116 Plans are underway for the sending of a C A R E package to a needy one in France A ten dollar cotton C A R B package will clothe a family of four The girls directed a larch of Dimes Drive to which all in school con tributed including various organized groups The Club will try to send two girls to Summer Camp located at Camp Horizon in the Arkansas Valley over looking the Arkansas River Special social events yet to be planned for are ones for the Mothers and Fathers of the Kayettes Heart Sister Correspondence was concluded with a Valentine's Party and Program Some gifts such as library books or pictures will be presented o the school later in the school year Honey to carry on the activities of the Organization has been raised in various ways: Selling refreshments at foot ball and basketball games and selling candy bars at the noon hour The Colors of the Kayettes are blue and gold A hexagon with a 'K' in scribed within is the symbol The motto, 'Today For Tomorrow , and the slogan, 'Laugh, Love, and L1ft, are goals for which the members try to work - s .
