Our winning streak ended this year at fifty-one games without a defeat: we won nine and lost one- The following scores tell their own story. Sikeston ,crowned Chaffee, 38-O3 Caruthersville, Z6-63 Cairo, 4-5-139 Kennett, Z3-03 East Prairie, 46-Og Cape Central, 2.4-143 Jackson, 19-135 Fredericktown, Z7-143 and Char- leston, 14-13. This year we lost our first game in six years, when Poplar Bluff beat us by the score of 14-13. In all the games the Bulldogs scored 275 points to their opponents' 8'7- Although we lost the Poplar Bluff game, we were still the Big Eight Champs, sharing this honor with Cape Central and Poplar Bluff. The Bulldogs have started another winning streak of five games and next yearfs team should add more to that number. Most of the first team was recognized for outstanding playing this year by being picked for the All-Conference team. Eddie Marshall, Noel Melton, and Bob Dyer received honorable mention All-Conference. Don Lewis, Garland Castleberry, Lee Shell, and Bob Lohr received Al1-Confer- ence. Bob Stearns, Fred Steward, and Melvin Dace re- ceived All-Conference and honorable mention All-State. Carol Jane Moody was chosen football queen, and A was crowned during half-time of the homecoming game. Vernon Mathis and Melvin Dace were chosen as co-captains for the year.
