It was the biggest year for the Dons and the turn out for Pep Club reflected this happy fact. The bright and breezy members of this club came early to foot- ball games and wrapped the goal posts, they sold the programs, and they cheered and cheered and cheered. Their spirit around that fifty yard line let our Dons know they had fans all the way.

ur Pepsters 0KAY DONS, let's really show our spirit, yelled Linda Harrer, head cheerleader, into the mike as she primed the cheering section for the next familiar yell. WE'RE THE CHAMPS . . . the crowd shouted enthusiastically, led by SV's six vibrant and vital Varsity Cheerleaders - Nina Wyn- koop, Darlene Osborne, Joe Soto, Marietta Minick, Ginny Taylor, and Linda Harrer, head. The Student Body of Sierra Vista reacted ecstatically to the sharp, precision approach of' our PEPSTERS, showing us they learned their lessons well at the National Cheerleaders School on the campus of the University of Redlands during the summer. They won four ribbons, three Third places and one Honorable Mention, in cheer competition at Camp, and their tumbling techniques showed what they can do in creat- ing a moving pattern of cheerleading. The role of our first YELLEADER, Joe Soto, cannot be over- looked. His willingness, ability, and support made all the different types of pyramid formations possible. Along with a very spirited year here at S.V.H.S., the Varsity Pepsters sponsored a smashing SPIRIT WEEK, held their first Pep Pot Luck Dinner, played host at the 3rd annual Inland League Pepster Luncheon, and attended the National Cheerleaders Association and the American Cheerleaders As- sociation Cheerleading clinics. Their motto is Keep 'Em Cheerin' and they did iust that by radiating spirit and enthusiasm at all the rallies, assem- blies, and athletic contests!
