MANUEL LOCKWOOD MIKE RINIER DAN MASON ROGER ROHLFING VARsity tcack The Sierra Varsity team had a most successful season this year, emerging Surburban League Champions with four wins and three losses. In the Artesia meet, Richard Joyce, tg with 50.9 in the 440, and Dan Mason, with 53 ' 5V4 in the B| shot put, broke the established marks. John Hertzberg H achieved a new time of 20.0 in the 180 low hurdles in the La AAirada meet, and in the Santa Fe meet, Mike Hogan jumped 6 ' 2y2 , setting another new varsity record. In the Mayfair meet, Spartans who shattered previous scores were Lew Jones with 1:59.5 in the 880, Mike Hogan with 13 ' in the pole vault, Pat Dowd with 10.0 in the 100 yard dash and 21.9 in the 220, and John Hertzberg with 14.6 in the 120 high hurdles. The Bees displayed great abilities by winning all their meets and also taking the Surburban League Championship.
