a distant Bell Ding dong, supper ' s on! Ding dong! ' Hold me. John, hold me tight. ' A Distant Bell, this year ' s winter play, rang out loud and clear to enthusiastic audiences for three eve- nings starting on November 3. The play, written by Katherine Morrill, told the sometimes happy, sometimes sad story of a woman and her three daughters and the trials and tribulations of their lives. The final scene, which brought the play to an almost tragic conclusion, showed how people can sometimes be drawn toward the abyss of human disaster when they are misunderstood by others.
