La Sernas pepsters watch Sierra s Varsity Yell Leaders execute one of their varied routines at an exchange pep rally held early in the year. yell leadeps PEGGY ABBOTT fii BOB KIGER. Head Yeli Leader Great enthusiasm and spirit were displayed by this year ' s yell leaders as they inspired the rooters at all Spartan games, assemblies, and rallies. In preparation for the busy year ahead, the group attended a special clinic held at Red- lands University where they gained valuable ex- perience in leading yells and working as a group. Providing them with equal amounts of pride a nd exasperation was the stubborn mechanism of the new Spartan Special, a 1930 Plymouth, which was loaned to the student body and was appropriately decorated with fight slogans and displayed during each weeks game ac- tivities.
