Once upon a time a little wasp named Sid ventured from his
hive in the big oak tree in front of Sidney High School, He had often
watched the many students enter and leave the large building.
The little fellow grew curious about their daily activities. One
morning, taking courage in hand, he stealthily flew into the big
"Where do I go from here?" quoth he. Just then he was
startled nearly out of his yellow jacket by the sharp ringing of a
bell. Suddenly Sid was surrounded by an on-rush of students. He
spotted the familiar face of a student friend and tagged along with

interesting facts about the building, soon to become his permanent
"Did you know," said his chum, "that there are 2050 feet of
corridor in the school? And 75 rooms, 900 steps, and 393 light bulbs!

Well satisfied with what he had learned and what he had ob-
served, Sid immediately transferred his belongings from Hive l to

"This has been a great year!" exclaimed the
husky hornet at the close of school, and in an in-
stant he was summing up the highlights of his ac-
Junior High entrance.
Between class rush.
Weekly assembly was one of his principal likes
and his eyes sparkled merrily as he related the
memories of Wednesday mornings. After the sec-
ond bell he buzzed out of room 20 and while the
senior orchestra was playing, winged his way to his
place in the balcony.
There he watched his friends display talents
and abilities and enthusiastically applauded out-
side talent booked by the student council.
The patriotic pest always sang the national
anthem and recited the pledge of allegiance with
all his heart.
Then Sid would bow his
head reverently for devotions.
Just before lunch, Sid went
to the auditorium to observe
