MAIOR ACTIVITIES: FCA is a service organization that is made up of athletes who show leadership qualities both on and off the field. Their aim is to build their character and become better men through religion. The athletes attend weekend seminars with nationally known athletes professing their belief in a supreme being. They have taken an active part in the Shortridge Commu- nity by participating in a Thanksgiving canned goods drive and helping in the Christmas Seal Poster Drive. MAJOR ACTIVITIES: The Media Club is associated with the school's media center, the library. Members are library assistants, students enrolled in Library Experience, and those interested in the school media center. The club holds several social activities during the year, including dinners, picnics, and parties. Their job is to gener- ate school spirit and enthusiasm. The Varsity Cheerleaders are also responsi- ble for organizing Shortridge's pep ses- sions. Throughout the season, the cheerleaders are involved in competi- tive cheerleading clinics. In October, the Varsity Cheerleaders received first place at a Purdue clinic.
