HISTORY DEPARTMENT ADDS COURSES The History Department added two new special education classes in government and economics to its curriculum in 1976-1977. Special Government was taught by Mr. Rocky Grissmore and Special Eco- nomics by Mr. Bill Morgan. About fifteen students were en- rolled in each of these classes. The Lily Endowment Schol- arship program of 18 years was discontinued. lt was not refi- nanced by Lily Endowment. Mary Mixon gets her info from taking notes wheras Natasha Jones studies her textbook. 2' ' .' . FGREIGN LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT - LIVELY AND GROWING A climb of three flights of stairs brings you to Shortridge's very own Tower of Babel - the Foreign Language Department presided over by lVlr. Allen Sutherland. This year two new programs, Spanish conversa- tion and explatory Latin were added. The Foreign Language Depart- ment was 'also the home of the largest club in the school -the French Club. According to Mr. Sutherland, lt's the livliest department aroundl f- or as they say in France, C'est formidable! Left - Scott Soltermann works dili- gently to complete his French as- signment.
