Student Board Expands To Homecoming Reorganization has been the key word in Student Board activities this year, not only in basic structure but also in a greater number of responsibilities. Shortridge Day and Homecoming emphasized the wonderful traditions that encompass Shortridge. The Football and Bluebelle-Ugly- man Dances gave Shortridgers a good time at a minimum of personal expense. Sock hops after basketball games and a Suggestion Box were innovations this year, as presi- dent Andy Falender made the Student Board a significant organization serving the whole school. Key Club continued its fine record of service in both school and community. Key Clubbers saved the athletic department thousands of dollars by cleaning up Julius Field after each football game. The club distributed TB posters one wintry day for the Marion County Tubercu- losis Association. Leonard Read, one of the nationls out- standing economists, was presented by the club in a spe- cial auditorium. A boys booster section was organized for home basketball games, and to cap off the year Key Club staged the annual 'LHard Timesl' Dance to which students came wearing their worst rags and tatters.
