We remember, especially. his ability to understand the difficulties of the slow pupil and at the same time appreciate and stimulate the ability of the quick. We remember his infinite patience to go over a complicated problem until it became clear to everyone. We remember that he was never too busy to stop in the hall to chat for a mo- ment or to make a little joke before class. We re- member that he seemed to think of each of us as an individual in whose personal achievements he was sincerely interested. We shall always remember when we, too, leave Shortridge, to take with us thc memory of his patience, his warmth, his unfailing interest, and his kindness. Joe Kettery endeared himself to faculty and students.
