yr cas ure 5 cy The Honor Roll of World Jar II was placed in the building in l9L5, by the l,oTaA.Lo The United States flag was presented to the school by Mrs. R. H. Baker in l9L5. The Ala- bama flag was purchased by the school. The Bible was pre- selted to Shorter High School august 30, 1939, by the Mcwhorter family, in memory of their father, H. S. hcfhortor. The oldest and most cherish- ed relic of the school is the bell. It's melodious tones have pealed forth since 1896, when the first board of trustees present d it to the school. The members of the board were: Dr. J. S. Lightfoot, Mr. J. A. Bul- lock, Mr. l. A. Lyon, Mr. J. C. Pinkston, Dr. F. M. letcher, and mr. Jas. H. Henderson.
