When I look back to the year 1945 and 1946 I see a group of boys and g1r1s anxxously waltrng for our tra1n to take us to Freshmanvllle We had chosen Mrs Roe as our Conductor, Donna Irelan as Engmeer an1ce Clark as Fxreman and Mary M1ller as Brakeman With the engme full of steam the Conductor shouted All Aboard We took as many boys and g1r1s as the coaches would hold and they were Esther Nelson Pat Campbell Mildred Kilgore Laura jean Otto V1rg1n1a Dlebert Mary Ann Mxller Betty Robmson Ruth Wolford Lucxlle Pennell Margaret Hudson jamce Clark Donna Irelan Sarah McKee Bob Walters D1ck Reynolds Dlck Rader joe Irelan Bob Sweet Kenneth Humbert Arthur Hamman Dale Laser At the end of our first years journey we stopped for repalrs and some rest We then settled down aga1n, we chose Mr Hezser as our Conductor, Art Hamman as Engmeer, Donna Irelan as Flreman , and Luc1lle Pennell as Brakeman After we started on we d1scovered we had lost several passengers they were Esther Nelson, V1rg1n1a Dzebert Margaret Hudson, and Bob Walters We ga1ned three new passengers, in place of those we lost they were Tom Hawthorne, Clarance Wheatcraft and Forrest Smith but we contmued on our journey to Sophomo ville , just as happy Durmg our Sophomore year we had many good t1mes Our class raxsed approxxmately S80 O0 by show1ng plcture shows to the school for ente rtainrne nt Our junior year was a very busy one Bob Sweet Laura jean Otto, and Betty Robinson Jumped off at a s1d1ng and that IS the last we saw of them We gamed one new member who was, Frances Rxddzck We chose Mr P1ttenger as Conductor Art Hamman as Engineer, Dale Laser as Fmreman, and Luczlle Pennell as Brake rnan We sold magazmes and ran a candy stand known as the jumor Stand and wehada junior Play, Mumbo Iumbo We gave the Semors of 1948 a very n1ce Banquet Fmally our train took off w1th a group of exc1ted boys and girls to Senxor- ville ' We chose as Conductor, Mrs Glasscock Art Hamman as Engineer Dale Laser as Fireman, and Lucxlle Pennell as Brakeman M1ldred K1lgore, Margaret Hudson and Dick Reynolds m1ssed the tram and they contmued their journey elsewhere Those that are fmxshxng the journey to Comrnencementv111e' are as follows, Janice Clark Ruth Wolford Sarah McKee Mary Ann Miller Donna Irelan Frances Riddlck Lucille Pennell Dick Rader Dale Laser Joe Irelan A17 Art Hamman Tom Hawthorne Forrest Smith Clarance Wheatcraft Kenneth Humbert CLASS HISTORY OF 1949 , , , ' ' u re-
