GENERAL BUSINESS MR. EASTES, TEACHER In the GENERAL BUSINESS course students learn the commonplace functions of busi- ness that they will experience in their own personal life regardless of occupations. Through thr use of books, pamphlets from the libraries, films, and free materials provided by various business organizations a background of essential information is acquired which will prove of a lasting benefit to all who take the course. MA THEM A TICS The modern mathematics program in the seventh and eighth grades provides a cur- riculum for the students that enables them to gain an insight necessary to achieve success in mathematical understanding. In the ninth grade the students may choose between a course in algebra or a course in general mathematics. Both courses are so designed to give students an adequate knowledge of higher mathematics. HEALTH MR. BECK MR. KNIGHT . . MR. PATTISON TEACHERS To develop good health attitudes and practices is the major objective of the health courses introduced in Junior High School. The subject of health knowledge is presented as it relates to the interest and needs of students in their home, school, and community environments. There are three teachers who teach HEALTH in the our Shields Junior High School. Mr, Beck, whose picture does not appear on this page, but his picture can be found on several other pages of this annual, Mr. Knight, and Mr. Pattison comprise the health department. MR.
