CHOIR GRADE NINE, DIRECTOR; MR. NORMARK The Freshman Chorus this year was open to any ninth grader interested in singing. As a training choir, the students learned different vocal techniques and exercises to help in singing good music literature. The chorus sang for the Christmas convocation and the Spring Concert this year. Out of the chorus, the ninth grade Girls ' Ensemble was formed. This ensemble sang for different occasions at the Junior High School and also the Seymour Senior High School. The ninth grade Girls ' Ensemble participated in contests. With an emphasis on the develop- ment of musical skills, this choir provides experience not only with choral singing but with music fundamentals and nota- tion as well. Section leaders (elected by the choir) are: Jane Spray, Sopranos; Lynn Baxter, Altos; and Kenny Knoke, Boys. Serving as music librarians for the choir are: Ann Miller, Terry Drollinger, Jackie Trujillo, and Brenda Franklin. Jane Moss, Brenda Brock, and Karin Van Scyoc assist Mr. Fritz with attendance records. CHOIR GRADE EIGHT ° ' ° Returning to the Junior High choral program are forty-two eighth graders who sang in the Seventh Grade Choir last year. Twelve additional members raise this year ' s enrollment to a total of fifty-six. Continued emphasis is placed on musical elements and understanding as well as choral singing. Section leaders elected for this year are: Brenda Hobson, Sopranos; Jane Laupus, Altos; Terry Greassle, Tenors; and Mark Spurgeon, Basses. Librarians for the Eighth Grade Choir are: Pam Cory, Shelley Chisham, Ann Whitcomb, and Lisa Englehardt. Assisting Mr. Fritz with the anendance records are Rhonda Green, Diane Phillips, and Julieanne Miller.
