i i ,' tin 4 9 ta, 1' Cass of I9 9 THE CLASS DRAMA As the Class of '59 departs from Sherman High School, the members pause to look back over the four brief years and recall the moments which made the routine exciting at times. ACT l--FRESHMAN YEAR Scene l Sherman High School A group of 171 curious, and for the most part, eager, youngsters came together in September, 1955, for that first day in high school. Principal of the school was Mr. Curtis Smith. Class officers elected to represent the class were Joe Tagliente, Eddie Dodrill, and Sue Kinder. Blanche Protan and Eddie Dodrill were our candidates for Miss Sherman and Mr. Sherman and Blanche was crowned as Miss Sherman. Miss Walhondiann candidates were Sue Kinder and Phyllis Belcher. Sue Kinder, also, represented the class as candidate for Miss Homecoming. Scene 2 Whitesville Junior High Forty two freshmen attended the Whitesville Junior High. Officers for their class were Dallas Hender- son, Danny Sutphin, Carolyn Anderson, and Delores Smith. Mr. Emmett Stine was Principal of the School at that time. A highlight of the year there was the play entitled Johnny Get Your Girl which was directed by Mrs. Pittsonberger. On May 25, 1956 the group was graduated and became an official part of the sophomore class for Sherman High School. 70
