LH CLUB The 4-H Club under the supervision of Miss Linnie Meadows, was established for the first time in our school in 1937. Being unsuccess- ful, it was dropped until 1940, when Miss Mildred Miller re-organized it. Upon the resignation of Miss Miller in January, Miss Catherine Brooks became its sponsor. SHERMAN BOOSTERS COLORS: Maroon and Gold MOTTO: To make the best better. BUSDRIVH5 , Cur school bus system is one of which we can be justly proud. Ap- proximately 650 students are transported each day to and from school on 13 buses. The average number of miles traveled each trip by each bus is 45. This system has been in use since 1926. The bus drivers are under the supervision of Clem White, the oldest driver in the service. The other drivers are B. E. Edleman, Earl Sapp, Curt Warren, Earl Vickers, V. W. Harless, Ward Courtney, Ed Shelton, Arlie Estep, R. E. Brandenburg, Watt Elkins, lsom Elrod, and Herb Pauley. VARMTY CLUB Very early in a young Shermanite's career he begins to Wonder if he will be one of those fortunates who makes the Varsity Club. It can be said Without a doubt that the Varsity Club nurtures the very pulse-beat of vivacious youth. Composed entirely of lettermen in football and basket- ball, it boasts a membership of tried and true athletes. The Varsity Club has as its president Ted Massey, a junior, and all-round athlete.
