Thirty-five men, our largest squad in years, reported for fall prac- tice. Of this group twenty-four earned the coveted Captain Kenneth Lamp played a brilliant game at end during the season and his berth will be hard to fill. The backfield loses only one man, Carl Jarrell, while reserves taking the places of Donald Kuhn, Willis Elkins, and Hubert Hughey Will have to extend them- selves to equal the record of these boys, w P 4 Mi

'nom time Gfzadle The Sherman High School of the present day draws its students from a radius of 18 miles, From the headwaters of Coal River to the mouth of Lick Creek: from the darkest cor- ner of the deepest valley to the brighest pinnacle of the highest hilly from all over the Big Coal sector come our students via a smoothlv working bus system. The following two pages are devoted to the two largest coal camps in Boone County. lt is from schools such as these that we receive our undergraduates.
