Students develop oral communications skills The various Speech and Drama classes at SHS offered a variety of outlets for students interested in cultivating their skills in communication. Speech, drama, acting, oral interpretation, public speaking, dramatic evaluation, mass media concepts, and other various types of communication skills are taught in drama. The first priority of each speech and drama class was to develop whatever communication skills each student possessed. I liked drama, it gave me a chance to be myself and I loved doing it, commented Eugene Brown, sophomore. Production was another important factor of drama. lt provided a vehicle for the various talented students to display their talents. Artistic acting and directing was stressed, but discipline, hard work, and knowledge associated with working backstage was also taught, stated Mr. Robert Watson, instructor.
