For twelve yesrs we have struggled, and now the end ls visible. For all these years we heve expressed what exuberant feelings we,mymld,heve et the close of the final years,but now as we aporoaoh greduetion, we are beginning to realize the beettparts of.our lives have been spent here in school. Of the present class of fifty-two, eleven students, Raymond Koon, Allen Mitchell, Wayne Stuckey, Robert Lee Welker, Joyce Ashley, Prences Jo Childers, Berbers Mae Holland, Petty Irvin, Msry Frances McDons1d, and Helen Bretton enrolled in school together in 1953. Grnduetlon Dey from Grsde Schoolwes the first mark of success. Veledictorien was Betty Irvin, selutstorian was Leta Mae Gean, and class histor- ian was Msry Frences McDonald. Among the events which eventually led to the dey of graduation was the Junior-Senior Banquet, April 25, 1944. NThe Case of the Missing Heirsn, directed by Mrs. Frank Koon,wes the next step. The Senior Panouet for the 1945 graduates was held December 2O, 1944, in the school cafeteria. Following this was the Senior p1ey,'B03jh gi-1Nut'S T, Merch 29, directed by Mrs.O.WgHope, netting 9292. Mrs. D. O. Rushing and Mrs. R. H. Irvin ere the class mothers. The colors are lavender and white. The places of vededictorisn and sslutstorian, highest honors to be given in high school, were earned by Betty Irvin end James DUMFOH, Donzella Mote, Lois Les Rushing, Joyce Ashley, Raymond Thornton, end Lenore Gwin are honor grsduetes. Two class-mstes, Jeck Nence end Hershel Lee Lenoester,were Killed sooidentalw during the summer of 1944. Many would-be gredustes, probably those who deserve to grsduete most, ere now serv- ing their country in the ermed forces. K
