Dear Fellow Seniors, It is a pleasure for me to write you a letter in our yearbook . My home is in the northern part of Germany about twenty-five miles from what is now the Iron Curtain. I was selected as an exchange student through the exchange student program of the United States Govern- ment and the National Grange. The aims of this program are to provide students with the opportunity of sharing information of their own country at the same time learn about another country. I feel very lucky to have had the chance to come to this beautiful school and friendly community which has made me feel very much at home. I am grateful to you for the friendliness and kindness you have shown me. It will be a pleasure to relate my wonderful experiences when I return home. If ever any of you should come to Germany, come and see me for my doors will always be open to you. Best wishes and much success to you, my friends. Winand Winand von Pete-rsdorff Campen Our Letter to Winand It has been an honor and a pleasure for the Senior Class to have had your company the past year. The way you have applied yourselfto work and play has been an inspiration to us all and the brightest smile in the halls of the Shenendehowa Central School has been yours. It surely has been a wonderful way to give birth to a new school with the inauguration of the Foreign Student Exchange Program. Surely Europe has been well represented by your presence here. We hope you find it in your heart to return some day and we'll be happy and proud to have you. Best wishes from the Class of '54 May God be with you always. 20
