Augusta Campbell Carolyn Hayman Cyrus Scudder Kenley W1ney Catalpa Tapp Shlrley M1chel Blldad Tapp Max Dunham Jeff Scudder Bob Burmood Our Jumor Senlor Banquet was based on the theme of an Orlental Garden After the banquet we danced to the music of Sam Donaly CONFIDENT SENIORS We f1nally reached our last year 1n h1gh school By th1s tlme our class role had been reduced to 23 We lost Phyllls Orth and durlng the year we lost Wayne Urwlller and Max Dunham leavmg the class w1th twenty members at the end of the year Our class offlcers were as follows Presldent Kenley W1ney V1ce Pres1dent Bob Burmood Secretary Dor1s Shormann Treasurer Luc1lle Poehler Newsreporter Joyce Coleman Student Counc1l Representatlve Jack1e Holmburg We were agam fortunate to have Mr Wh1t1ng as our sponsor The spotllght shone on many members ofthe senlor class as they took part 1n VBIIOUS act1v1t1es F1ve boys were on the football squad and Benny proved to be a very eff1c1ent Loren Bob and Kenley went out for track and Kenley and Loren also played on the baseball team All of the boys were 1n S Club Loren was pres1dent Kenley was the secretary and Ben was newsreporter All of the glrls were 1n the Pep Club and Jack1e Joyce Karen and Jolene were cheerleaders Carolyn was pres1dent of the Pep Club and Donna O Ma.x1ne Shlrley F Lucllle and Dor1s were also offlcers of the Pep Club The glrls 1n the g1rls glee numbered twelve Ten sen1ors were 1n the m1xed chorus Max1ne was accompanlst for both groups F1ve of the glrls played 1n the band Ten g1rls were ln the L1brary Club Carolyn Kenley Bob and Dor1s represented the class 1n dramaucs Kenley W1ney was presldent ofthe Student Counc1l Carolyn Jack1e and Dor1s were on the Student Counc1l Jack1e and Joyce were cand1dates for Homecomlng and Jack1e was the Queen We put on our Semor play whlchwas entltled Stars In Then' Eyes Soon our semor year was over and we donned our graduatlon caps and gowns We have enjoyed our four years 1n Shelton H1gh School WILL We the Sen1or Class of Shelton H1gh School County of Buffalo and State of Nebraska after push1ng our noses to the grmdstone bendmg over backwards for the teachers and falhng over from exhaustlon due to studymg for the past four ted1ous years hereby belng of sound m1nd after much censorsh1p make publlsh and declare th1s our last w1ll and testament MAXINE BOWMAN I w1ll my ab1l1ty to study to Garold Resh my books and desks to any lucky Junlor that wants them and my place as p1an1st to Charlene Sorensen BOB BURMOOD l w1ll my curly ha1r bralns and my muscles to Don Bowman and my F F A part1c1pat1on to Corny DONNA BURMOOD I w1ll for be1ng the f1rst one 1n the rest room to Cora Sue Math1eson my geometry book to anyone who wants lt my tallness to Beverly Mlchel and L M to anyone I . 0 student manager for the season. We had twelve girls in girls' glee, seven members in band, nine members in mixed chorus, fifteen girls in pep club, one boy in F.F.A., and five girls in the library club. Kay Russell was the secretary of the library club and Joyce Coleman was the news- reporter Jolene and Karen were majorettes and Carolyn Kroll was our homecoming candidate Carolyn H Helen S and Betty G sang in the novette and Kay Russell sang a solo for Coronation Carolyn Hayman and Kay Russell participated in dramatics Carolyn was in the one act play she received a superior rating at the Tri Valley and district contests for a dramatic reading and rated excellent in the scholastic contest Kay received an excellent rating for poetry reading at both contests Paul Holl and Ken ley Winey were in the S Club again Those who were waiters and waitresses in the Junior Senior Banquet were as follows Head waitress Carolyn Hayman Others Jolene Heskett Karen Loewenstein Joyce Coleman Carolyn Kroll Jackie Holmburg Head walter Kenley Winey Others Loren Niemack Paul Holl Wayne Urwiller DeWayne Grell Benny Oliver The waiters were dressed as clowns and the waitresses were dressed as trapeze artists JUBILANT JUNIORS At the opening of our Junior year we found that we had lost Kay Russell Joyce Stea.rley and Darlene Otto We gained Bob Burmood and Max Dunham During the first semester we also lost Betty Gilliland The class officers were as follows President Joyce Coleman Vice President Karen Loewenstein Secretary Jackie Holmburg Treasurer Loren Niemack Newsreporter Bob Burmood Student Council Representative Carolyn Hayman Our class sponor was Mr Whiting The members of the Junior class participated in many of the activities of the school We had 5 boys on the football squad Benny Oliver was on the All Conference football team Three of the boys were on the varsity team and two were on the reserve team in basketball Four of them participated in track and three played on the baseball team A group of five boys belonged to the S Club Fifteen Junior girls belonged to the Pep Club Eleven girls sang in the g1rls glee club and five members of the class played in the band Karen was drum maJorette and Jolene and Vera were maJorettes Eleven girls belonged to the Library Club Carolyn Donna Maxine Helen and Karen were in some small music group Carolyn Lucille Helen Maxine and Kenley represented the class in dramatics Carolyn received a superior acting award at the Fine Arts Festival Kenley Winey was vice president of the Student Council He attended the state con vention at Lincoln and the National Student Council Convention at Minneapolis Minnesota We had four boys who belonged to F F A Jolene and Joyce were homecoming candidates Jackie attended Girls State and Kenley attended Boys State There were many of our class on the annual staff Our class put on a hilarious play intitled The Campbells Are Coming The plot was set in the Ozarks The cast was as follows Kay Brannigan Karen Loewenstein Betty Brannigan Maxine Bowman Ma Brannigan Helen Sealmg Dick Brannigan Wayne Urwiller Kingston Campbell .
