These students ents of well-aimed critici week had to go through a ations. After the first week established as residents for were the recipi- ms and for one series of initia they were firmly a period of four years and chose as their leadersg Bill Young president, Tommy Johnson, vice-president and Dolores Powers, secretary-treasurer. After the first fer weeks this group began to feel the loyalty and devotion for Sheffield High School that every student feels for his Alma Tater This freshman class contributed rep resentatives in all the different field f activities and many of these student became exceotionally outstanding The second division to be reached wa that of the Sophomoies These peonle were very dignified and really strived to become part of the uiper classmen What a frofound relief to pass the stage oi scorned freshmen They elected Ben Allen, pre ident lizabeth Holloway, vice president and Jiics Dale Thornton, secretary treasurer The first part of the Sophomore year was uneventful with the students working very diligently It was on April 21 1938 that the greatest tragedy in the history of Sheffield high School hapwenec The high school building was completely ravaged by fire lhe loyal students had a feeling of horror as they watched their beloved school burn They wept openlr as if they had lost a loved one and indeed they had fter losing onlf one day from school thex fini hed the year success full, Toward the close of that year the an nual sophomore enior picnic wa given and '71, y 'n if v Y, I X 5558883 SS SSX!!
