Autumn Diary AUGUST 30. School opensg class rolls are taken. Mr. Harlan made several an- nouncements. A book rental system is started. SEPTEMBER 6. Today is the day for which the seniors have been waiting-- the freshmen are being initiated. 12. Pep Club officers are elected today. 13. First football game. We start the football season off right with awin 16. Today we select the Cardett Staff. 20. Seniors sell ads for the yearbook. After the football game Qwhich we wonj we had a sock hop. 25. Both Home Economics classes went to Princeton to observe a cooking demonstration. OCTOBER 7. Forty-one students are absent from school today. They have the flu. 16. Report cards came out today. There are some happy facesg others, not so happy. 31. Today we had the election for Homecoming Queen and King. NOVEMBER 1. A BIG DAY--HOMECOMING. We lost to Tiskilwa in football. The pep club did a special dance during half-time. The freshmen decorated the gym for the dance. Pictures were taken of Queen Donna, King John, and the court. 5. Tonight was the last football game of the year. 7. The juniors go to Wyanet for Career Day. 15. The seniors are busy getting ready for their last play at SHS which will be given tonight. 22.
