D WENDELL SMITH, first team quarter back, helped lead the Cardinals through a successful season by scoring 131 points--21 TD's and 5 extra points. Wendell was named the All-Conference 2nd, team back. He was also named one of the Most Valuable players in the conference by the BUREAU VALLEY CHIEF. LEFT HALF, DRISCOLL DREW, also gave the team a helping, push by scoring 13 TD's and 8 extra .points for a total of 86 pts. Drew was named All-Conference 4th, team back. Driscoll could always be counted on to deliver the mail--with no postage due . TERRIBLE TERRY QTUSSJ NUTTER, Sheffie1d's right half, made up the third member of the BEST ALL- ROUND BACKFIELD in the Conference. Terry Tuss made the last TD in the Championship game with a 15- yard run. During the season Terry racked up 11 TD's and 1 extra point. Terry will e bac with us next year. to give the team power and drive. JACK GENTRY, All-Conference end and the Cardinals right-end terror, was a boy who could really block and run. Jack, a junior, will be wearing the Red and White for another season, and we hope it will be as vic- torious as this year. Jack made 3 TD's and 2 extra points for a total tally of 20 points. KAYE GARRISON, All-Conference 3rd, team Tackle, was one of our best blockers and tacklers. One of the two Seniors in the forward wall, Kaye was a member of the ALL -CONFERENCE BEST ALL-ROUND LINE. HAROLD fDickj LAMBERT was chosen All-Conference center and the other Senior member of the BEST ALL- ROUND LINE, Dick could always be counted on to snap that old pig -skin just right. WAYNE 1Toadj SMITH, a Sophomore, was considered, the best lineman in the loop, and was named All- Conference tackle. Toad was the youngest member of the conference ALL-ROUND LINE. Wayne will be wearing the Sheffield Red and White for two more years and we hope that those years will be as good as this year. CONRAD fKnuteJ HEWITT, a Junior made up the 5th man in the Cardinals' unbreakable wall of defense. Knute received Honorable Mention in the All-Conference team. With three years of experience behind him he will be a big asset to the team in the remaining year of service he has left... Sheffie1d's undefeated season would not have been possible without the encouragement and guidance given ghleufcanp by COACH RADUNZEL and FRED SCHWIND. They certainly deserve a lot of the credit for having e ea e eam.

SHEFFIELD 33--TISKILWA 0 The Tiskilwa Indians found out the hard way that Sheffield had power to burn when it came to playing football. Tiskilwa was worn out after the first half and the final score saw Sheffield way out in front. Here was- the game we showed the world we could al- so pass. SHEFFIELD CRUSHES BUREAU 40-33 The Bureau Wildcats were the next victim and they fell before the mighty Cardinals as had the others. The Cardinals' expert passing and running gave them a 40-33 victory over the Wildcats. SHEFFIELD PUMMELS MALDEN 52-21 The Malden Musketeers were completely outclassed in this one. The Sheffield reserves played over three quarters of the tglame and the final score was still 52- 21. It was at is point of the season' that the squad whittled down from 22 to 15 players due to injuries incurred during practice. SHEFFIELD BEATS LAMOILLE 52-13 The LaMoille Lions were completely humiliated by what they expected to be a lucky Sheffield squad. The game was marked by high-spirited play by both teams and the Cards flew of the field owning a 52- 13 victory. This was our tune-up battle for the ex- pected tight game the next week. SHEFFIELD NUDGES WYANET 45-13 The Wyanet Eagles watched the Cardinals fly by in this one. Sheffield was not ex cted to hold up under the barrage of tplasses thrown E3 Wyanet but despite 50 some passes rown and 27 completed the Cards had little trouble winning 45-13. It was this weekend that the world was notified that nothing was going to stop the Cardinals. SHEFFIELD SWEEPS ZEPHYRS 33 -'7 The Cardinals ut on the Neponset Zephyrs air-brakes and flew aheadp for a 33-7 victory. Everyone was now looking forward to the end of the season when Shef- field would be the undefeated champions. 'T , is This page sponsored by: N 7 If ,gk - ,.
