In October Virgil Smith moved to Plainville, Kansas, leaving us a final membership of twenty. On September 5 the Seniors initiated us. Altogether we had a very messy day. All day we had to wear crazy costumes thought up by the Seniors. Whenever we met a Senior we had to get down on our hands and knees and say, Most Honorable Senior, a humble Freshman kisses thy feet. At noon we Freshmen pushed the Seniors uptown and back on a hay rack, which was very tiring. In the evening the Seniors had stunts for us to do before an audience in the gym, followed by a school dance given in our honor. On October 24 the Freshmen sponsored the Homecoming Dance, with Paul Russell for our orchestra. The dance was a big success. We had our first class party November 20. Eighteen of us went skating in Princeton. We had a fine time except for the bruises we collected on the skating rink. Miss Neff was our class sponsor this year.
