a.L.i':e, Students practice tor lbluisincess ttutluirce Composed of many of tomorrow's perspective business leaders, DECA, the Distributive Education Clubs of Am- erica, again set high goals for themselves. Being the first group ever from South to compete for Chapter of the Year award, much work was involved in preparing for this national honor. Along with regular class respon- sibilities, the group engaged in various additional activities. They contributed to the Salvation Army fund by helping with their bell ringing campaign. They also aided the Muscular Dystrophy by throwing a fund raising Valentine's party, and they helped out the needy by holding a food drive. In DECA, achievement was the name of the game as Mark Kaman learned. Mark ran for president of the state organization and was elected. DECA is sponsored by Miss Vlckl Jennings. While DECA dealt with the marketing and retailing aspects of the business community, Olflce Education provided other students the opportunity to get invol- ved using their respective talents. Providing var- ious secretarial services to several businesses, the students received on the job training. Sponsored by Lcralle Wilson, Office Education gave students the opportunity to gain experience in the business world. DECA, Office Education 61
