un Wlllfllfllllfllgi season
The Categories team had another great winning
season. While the first match was a disappointment,
the team was able to zap most of their opponents. Mrs.
Barbara Selbel, the new quiz coach, started whipping
the team into shape during the fall. Practices were
held regularly on Mondays and Thursdays. Potential
team members were always welcomed to these training
sessions. The meetings were informal and fun, and if
the participants weren't very careful, they could act-
ually learn something before they were done. Of those
that attended the practices, the five with the most
questions answered correctly went on to that week's
.competition against other schools. The outstanding
scorers were veterans Mlke Tltens, self-appointed cap-
tain Greg Rapaport, Greg Azorsky and rookie Scott
Nations. Other notables were Eddle Speer and Helde Kraus.

Student ideas needed
Over the years students have complained that the
Student Council was a do-nothing organization. But
they should have realized that it was the students
that made StuCo effective. Since StuCo was made up
of only 50 people, fresh ideas soon ran out. But
when a representative went to a class room asking for
suggestions, the responses were minimal or else he
was met with blank stares. But in spite of these
handicaps, there was an increase in student involve-
ment. The Homecoming Dance and blood drives had
good turnouts. The competition between the classes to
raise the most money for a charity was fierce. And
next year, thanks to StuCo's efforts, the parking lot
congestion should be eliminated, because both entrances
to the school will be utilized for incoming or out- .
