-gfg ,wi-'sm M-frgvg-QA V 1, - ' ' to move the world You may have hear students talking about D.l. s or I.D.A. s or earnestly discussing the pros and con s of the national energy program. While these may not seem like normal topics for conversation it is for the stud- ents enrolled in forensics or debate. An academic per- forming class is a proper definition for both subject. Debate held first semester allowed students to com- pete against kids from other school on one chosen subject. The topic this year was the need for an effective energy program. Like many other organizations the debaters were close friends and often held C.P.F. panties with the stipulation that it was B.Y.O.B. bring your own brief. The cut past file party then consisted of the debaters cutting briefs and pasting them on 4 x 6 notecards using rubber cement. Ms. Sandl Gresham described forensics as an oral track meet.' In this class students can express themselves through acting interpreting drama, prose or poetry or speaking factually. Although forensics is a relatively new class, enrollment is high and the team is already well on its way to becoming a leader among other schools. If you haven't been involved in either course, you might want to consider it. Debate is good for the pro- arf' W - Tolk jocks attempt spective lawyer or those who just plain like to argue. Forensics is for anyone who wishes to express himself in his own very unique, personal way. Both classes are beneficial and the students say, Give me the right words, and l will move the world.
