4Ez Qgggw uh-K M PRYICR MILLER HAIR SIMONS NEEI'ER PRYER Although this was Bob's first year on the team he played the game very well both offensive and defensive. Bob is also a Senior. RIILLER Bob reminds one of a xy ar tank wading into the opposition. No one stopped him, but he stopped everyone. He was able to open up holes as a preliminary for gains. He will be captain next year. BAIR Johnnie has hut one objective fixed in his mind, to smash through the opponents line. On the defensive he was a bear. Very few plays went through him. SIMONS Bob was called upon to do most of the punting this year and he did a very splendid job at it. His position at guard will be hard to till next year. NEICPER Neeper was called upon at the first of the season to fill the position formerly held hy Jack McCoy and did a very line job of it. Harold was a very dependable blocker. N X.. hs. iEZ QYQQENA Boys' Basketball HE SHAVVNEE Basketball team of 30-31 was not as successful as it has been in the former years. Although we only won two games during the season, and had the toughest schedule so far, the boys had plenty of snap and never got discouraged. With only one letterman, around whom to build a team, and one week to prepare. they lost the first game to Cridersville by a score of 32-ll. The next week the team traveled .to Wapak and lost by a close score of 17 to 20. The following night they played Lima South which was a little out of their class and got beat 32-l0. Spencerville handed our boys a trouncing of 25 to 4. The boys lost the following Friday and Saturday to Elida and the Alumni by a score of 24 to l-l and l3 to 48 respectively. The boys lost a close game and a real thriller to Columbus Grove by a score of 2l to 23. Rockford beat the boys on Rockford's floor to a score of 16-29. Shawnee was about to enjoy a victory over Beaverdam when in the final seconds of the game they lost out. The score was 26-28. Here the boys gained courage and the following Friday defeated VVaynesfield by a narrow margin of 26-24. Spencerville again defeated our lads 17-32 on their own floor. f i two hard fought games 22-31 and 21-23. f The next two weeks the Indians traveled to Gomer and Elida when they lost For the second time in the season the boys were out-classed by the strong Bluffton 'XX five and suffered the worst defeat, 16-67. fx The boys lost to .Harrod by a score of 21-43. ,' 3 DN They again suffered three bad defeats in the hands of Harrod, Pandora and ' - 2. D-elphos Jefferson, although all three were more interesting than the scores show. dpi Fil H m Their second victory came at the very end of the season. This shows that they 'N were not quitters . At this time they defeated Lafayette by a score of 26-25. if 4 The lettermen who graduate this year are Beeler, Delong and Simons. l Q is In - 5.5 X . 'X-I., 'f.
