PUGH KNECHT WALTZ BRINER COACH PUGH Mr. Pugh has proved to us his ability as a football coach by his agreeable disposition. everlasting patience and his zealous love for all sports. He has won the re- sponding confidence and affection of all the boys. He surely fulfilled all the requirements of a successful coach. ' COACH KN EC HT Mr. Knecht has developed many good basketeers during his three years of coaching at Shawnee. He has won the respect and loyal cooperation of all the boys with whom he has come in contact. CGACHES VVALTZ and BRINER Coaches, VValtz and Briner, have by their sincere effort, their personal experiences and art of coaching, led the girls basketball team through a very successful season. Shawnee has been very fortunate in having Mrs. Waltz for five years and Miss Briner acting as a very capable assistant for three years. We are still hoping to have them with us in the future. The success of the girls basketball teams should he unhesitatingly given to these two coaches, who have so whole- heartedly put forth an untiring effort for the success of the team. -.sr P 1, -vp 5 f X if , s ,, f fi ! t -I ' iui i' - - '

EZ QEQQENA Cheer Leaders RAY BURGETT MA1Ji51.1NE LITTLE HARRY SHOOK Football of 1930 HAYVN lCE'S football team did not make such a good record as far as win- ning games were concerned. But considering the fact that eight lettermen in were lost by graduation, Jack lX'IcCoy injured the first part of the season and the team suffering boils throughout the season, we feel that we had a pretty good record. The Indians started the season with a scoreless tie with Columbus Grove for the third consecutive year. The next game was the first one at home and lost by one touchdown. One week later the boys made history for the school by playing the first game under floodlights at Celina. Celina was one of the class A schools to which Shawnee lost. Shawnee lost to Pandora by one touchdown but it is not considered the most sportsman-like manner in which they got it. lVe suffered our worst defeat in the hands of Bluffton by a score of 38-0 which we should not feel disgraced considering the fact that four of our regulars were on the injured list and this was the smallest score that they run up on any class B team this season. The boys got a had break in the lVapak game which resulted in the loss of the xx N wx Tis. .
