Miss Gloeckler The Girls' League of the Shafter High School was organized under the direction of Miss Habicht in 1928, and has played an active part in school affairs. One of the most outstanding projects of this year was the serving of lunch by the league to the football boys after each game. Much of the success was due to the Way the committee in charge supervised the affair, and also to the co-operation of the student body. April 16 the girls enjoyed Play Day at Taft, which was sponsored by the G. A. A. of the school. Each girl entered in some sport and, in that Way, helped to further friendship and sportsmanship between the schools and indi- viduals present. Miss Gloeckler was appointed Girls' Councilor. Social, personal, and school problems Were studied in groups and discussed individually. This Work was started late this year, and the next year a regular program of activities will be worked out by the Girls' League oflicers and Miss Gloeckler. 18
