1932 an x 1 xx THE LAURION uniors With the closing of our third year, we, the Junior class, can look back on our preceding terms and be proud of the splendid record. We have the distinction of having triumphed over all the other classes in the interclass track meet. In football, our class was represented by several stars on the team. Our Junior-Senior Banquet was pronounced by all to be one of the best of the season. To lend our aid to all school affairs, several of our members Hlled important roles in the student body dramatic productions and in student body offices. We are looking forward to our Senior year with much enthusiasm. Officers: Reynold Mettler, President, William Johnson, Treasurer, Margaret Koehn, Secretary, Mr. Gates, Adviser. Sophomores We, the Sophomore class, began our second year of high school life jubilantly by giving an initiation party in honor of the Freshmen. Soon after this we turned our attention toward the ticket selling con- test for the student body play, Honor Bright . We upheld the tradition of the Sophomores of last year by winning the contest. The Sophomore class participated with great enthusiasm in all school activities, such as plays, sports, musical and social events. To Miss Sullivan, our class adviser for two years, we extend our most sincere thanks and appreciation. Officers: Blynn Scott, President, Alvina Hildebrand, Secretary, La Rue Livers, Vice-President, Daphne McKinley, Treasurer, Miss Frasquita Sullivan, Adviser. Freshmen The Freshmen became full-fledged members of the school at the initia- tion and have been well represented in all school activities, having mem- bers on the baseball, football, basketball and track teams, and in the stu- dent body play. On March 11 we gave our first party in high school. We are looking forward to three more happy years in Shafter High. We thank Mr. Wilson, our class adviser, for his help and co-operation. Officers: Clifford Mettler, President, Robert McClain, Vice-Presi- dent, Susie Penner, Secretary-Treasurer, Mr. James V. Wilson, Adviser. 11
