The purpose of the Hi-Y organization is to create, maintain, and extend, throughout the school and community, high standards of Chris- tian character. This year the Hi-Y sponsored the Homecom- ing and two paid assemblies. Delegates were sent to various conferences and training camps. The ioint Hi-Y and Y-Teen formal was the social highlight of the year. Among other things, the boys had movies as part of their own programs and one program was devoted to attendance at the churches of various faiths. As part of their service projects, the boys sponsored a clean-up campaign. The climax to a highly successful year was the awarding of the Hi-Y Honor Award to the club, an award given only to Hi-Y clubs throughout the state that do outstanding services to school and community aside from the usual Hi-Y accomplishments. Russell R. Bond We all like to get out of classes, especially if it is to see a movie in the proiection room. Do you know who runs the machines so that you can get out ot those classes? Right. The boys who belong to the projection club. Under the direc- tion of Mr. Kroll, the boys learned to run the pro- jector. Movies aid the students and teachers in their classes. The boys of the club are getting useful experience which may benefit them in some way years later. Our hats are OFF to the boys who make our visual education possible. Who rings the bells tor classes to begin? Who collects the absence slips? Who meets and greets visitors and summons people to the tele- phone? Who runs errands for Mr. Wright and takes care of the hall lights? Our school iust couldn't be operated without the aid of the oFFice F. Holden, C. Meddings, D. Buskirk, V, Zacek M. Piper, D. Putinsky force. Yes, these are the girls who do the sel- dom-remembered but very necessary duties around the school. And may we say they have been one of the best in efficiency and depend- ability.
