What put the pep in our pep meet- ings? The answer to these questions is a cry from Shadyside students-the Orange- clad musicians of Shadyside High. The Shadyside band completed a suc- cessful year under the leadership of Mr. Ioseph Trosak. After many hours of tireless effort on the part of the band, they were richly rewarded by the deep appreciation of music enthusiasts throughout the valley. Football fans thrilled at the sight of the interesting formations of the musicmen, They also performed at a few of the basket- ball games. The musicmakers appeared at Oglebay l 2 Park to play in a mass band under the lead- ing hand of the director of the Marine Band. They also appeared at the dedication of the new Wheeling airport, and the great one- hundreth year celebration of Stone and Thomas, Beautiful music was heard flowing from the portals of Shadyside High on March 28. ln other words, it was the night of the an- nual Music Festival. The program consisted of numbers by the boys' and girls' glee clubs, mixed chorus, junior high band and the high school concert band. As an added attraction the fifth grade tonette classes played a few short numbers. This proved very interesting for these fifth graders will make the band members of l95U.
