VVrestling 3, 4, SEHIUR HISTUHU In September of the year 1936, a group of over one hundred individuals entered high school for the first time. It was evident that they were freshmen because of the bewildered look on their faces as they wandered around the halls looking for their classes. M ildred Lovrich When this class entered high school the next year as Sophomores, there was a decided decrease in the number of students to those of the former year, but they made up for it by being well represented in all the activities, especially football, basketball, and wrestling. Mildred Lovrich As juniors, they found that life was not all a bowl of cherries but that there was work to be done. LHSI llllll HHH TESIHHIEIII OF THE SENIOR CLASS 1940 The Senior Class of 1940, of the Village of Shadyside, County of Belmont, Mead Township, State of Ohio, hereby revoke and strike from the records any and all wills made by them heretofore, and at this time do publish and declare this, their last will and testament. We wish to give our thanks to the Board of Education for all they have done for us and for the school. To our superintendent, Mr. Garrette, and to our principal, Mr. Dorff, we give our express thanks for the encouragement and help they have given us throughout the years. After a unanimous vote, it was decided to leave our seats in Senior homeroom and in assembly to the Class of '41, knowing that this will be appreciated by said class. And, as individuals, we do give, devise and bequeath the following: Ethel Ambler--My typing ability I leave to Mary Helen Zaccagnini. johnny August-My athletic ability I leave to my brother, Mike. Agnes Baker-I will my A's to my sister, Ruth. Evelyn Boston--I bequeath my good grades in American Literature to joan jones. Betty J. Campbell-My personality I leave to my sister, Flora. Mary Burkhart-I leave my studious ways in Civics class to Rosemary Slack. Dale Campbell-I leave my seat in Mechanical Drawing to anyone worthy of it. Jennings Davis-I wish to bequeath my position on the basketball team to Bob Copeland. Richard Davis-I wish to announce that I leave nothing but my seat in the homeroom. Elizabeth Dean-I leave my seat in Public Speaking class to Virginia Archer. james Farmer-I leave to my sister, Elaine, the job of upholding the family name. Lewis Figuris-My quiet ways I leave to Charles Berry. Elaine Forsythe-My position as president of Assembly Club I leave to Anna M. Brown. August Gangola-I leave my work bench in shop to joe Klein. June Glasow-My dancing ability I will to Patty Dawson. Vic Husser-I bequeath my position as drum major to any up and coming senior who can master it. Frank Jenkins-I leave my Mech.
