Once Upon a Springtime the Girls ' League sponsored its annual Cotton Day Dance. Couples danced to music by the Cep- tors, the first time the League employed a live band. Six elves skipped around a maypole in front of a castle as Al Sabater and Pam Johnson were crowned Cotton Day King and Queen. Later in the year, girls tumbled, sang and danced their way through a variety show at the annual Mother-Daughter Tea, A May Bouquet. Sending St. Patrick ' s Day cards to Shadle teachers and sponsoring a Valentine break¬ fast for the homeroom representatives com¬ pleted the officers’ spring activities.
