The 1982 Homecoming goes down in history as one of the best Shades Valley has even had. With temperatures in the 40's, many couples were given an excuse to snuggle up and watch as Shades Valley shut out Robert E. Lee 14-0. Many girls were dressed in wool skirts and blazers adorned with their Homecoming mums. Alongside the girls, their dates were dressed in wool and tweed blazers or the traditional suit After the game, many couples dined at Darryl’s, the newest restaurant In Birmingham. Other couples were seen standing in line to get in Baby Doe's. Michaels. Fifth Quarter, and other fine restaurants Depending on the time, some couples decided to catch the late movie while others barely made it to Star Lake to watch the last of the “submarine races. In all Homecoming was a great sue cess, and it was a night worth remembering. 13
