As we think of times before The time just longingly soars: The feeling of accomplishment and pride. The joy of a winning side, Happiness of friendship With the great expectations of ole Pip. The sad occasions have gone away Allowing only a warm feeling to stay. The puppy love romances that faded with the days Will always be with us no matter what we say. Excitement from the pep rallies Unger As the laughter of the assemblies tingle. All these feelings and many more Mingle into a warm feeling of pride. These were the happy days Of carefree youth and careless days. But when our ' Alma Mater” brings a tear We know that we have been sincere. We wonder how our days will tally As we search the skyline from this valley. 210 . dSa Once upon a time, I was walking down the streets of my memory and ran into an old friend, whom I hadn't seen In at least 10 years. To be exact, since our Graduation Day! We began talking and discussed how our lives had changed, but what was more fascinating, was how the lives of our former classmates had changed, the greatest class alive, the Class of '77. Between the two of us we came up with this: Cindy (Wacky) Womble. former Miss Shades Valley, is now in Bryce from a mental collapse from too much responsibility from being President of the Women’s Auxiliary. P.T.A.. Beautify America Club, and the Southern Ladies Citizenship Club. Stewart (Sincere) McLaurin In a controversial campaign of boo's and hisses, has finally become the 2nd president elected from the south but was impeached for his honesty. Chris (Crash) Graves has been hospitalized for the past several years for having every bone in his body broken from motorcycle wrecks, but he feels no pain because his blood is 180 proof. In the same hospital is Jennifer Eggleston, still suffering after all these years from smarting back to Miss Mackey. Daryl (Dope) Carden is now president of Pot Growers Local 297. Sim Williams. Larry Chandler. Barry Myrick. and Robert Sims, are still searching the Mall parking lot for women. Joey Felton has now opened his own hat factory. JOEY'S HAT'S FOR FROS. Speaking of that. Greg Glaster is now president of Ultra-Sheen, Inc.. with his board of directors Michael (Fro) Fox. Wayne (Way-Out) Scott, and Chip (Blossom) Bloom. Spyro (Shrimp) Mitchell has taken the place of the midget on the GONG SHOW. Danny Hallman has a cute little wife AND a pretty wife AND a smart wife AND . . . Lexie Palmer, after spending her life going to basketball games has finally found a man taller than herself. Nancy Sanders and Robyn Shirley have both settled down and arc living in an apartment: What a cute couple! Selena Acton has taken up with a traveling Eskimo. Raleigh Finch has been unanimously voted keeper In charge of Bryce Hospital for being able to get along with the patients so well. Allison Gibson has broken the world's record for being married and divorced to the same person. Don Larimer! David (Somlnex) Slcssman toured his home country of Greece. He didn't get much out of it because he slept through the whole thing. Danny Newman has now opened his own wrecker service ... for himself. What ever happened to David Friday? Who cares? Diane Cummings has taken Barbara Walters' place for asking the most questions. Her career started in Miss Mackey's room. Erwin (Rich) Raughley has opened his own state. Gail Porter's Fine Jewelry Stores has taken Epp's Jewelers place in sponsoring Channel 42 Wrestling, starring Chris (Killer) Dorsey. Karen (Saint) Sanders has become a nun. Addie Harris runs her own place. THE BEST DISCO IN TOWN. Kathy (Perfect) Perrlgin has opened up her own museum of trophies, ribbons, and awards, she has won. Regina Chenowcth has remained as a student in Miss Mackey's class after all these years and is finally thinking of dropping out. Martha King gets an Emmy for her acting ability. It's funny she hasn’t performed in anything. After exercising and working out. Feris Richey and Philip Smith have finally grown an inch. Jeannie Cole has let her hair grow out . . . to its natural color. Jimmy Allen has taken the place of Country Boy Eddie. Patty Dyson has become a successful housewife with two children (walking around in her attire of bathrobe and curlers). Not the Patty we remember. Huh? Shades Valley has finally cleaned the bathrooms. Miss Mackey is still talking about her trip to Europe. We hope that the Class of 77 In spirit will always remain with Shades Valley. But. whether it be past, present, or future, the Class of 77 is and will always be the BEST class ever. Martha King and Debbie Jo Warner Class Prophets I'taxiha andl eldrCt ‘ ll'axnex {2la±i tatC±tccLan The Senior Class of 1977 left many trash cans full of statistics. The following are the closest ones I could find to be worth remembering. Danny Hallman has sung Let's Make Memories to every Junior girl at Shades Valley. Fenis Ritchey has said Really Now so many times that everybody is getting sick of it. Danny Newman owes Pasquales $2,000,000 for all of those broken mugs. Jo Jo Harper wore 110 new suits, 10 more than last year. Mrs. Wortham told her homeroom not to move the chairs every morning of the year. Bill Allsoppsaid Aw come on now 15 times a day ever since Patti left. Nena Frank hit at least 20 trees, just trying to get out of her driveway. Becky Long has asked 15 total strangers to speak at morning watch. 13 didn't show up and the other 2 were late. Lu Ann Bailey has asked What's Happening? 4,000.000 times. Will someone please tell Lu what’s going on! HEY . . . The A.P. Biology Class has averaged 10 absences a day. 3 days a week all year. Thai's not bad since there are only 10 people in A.P. Biology. David Friday has told anyone who would listen how great he was every 10 seconds for 18 years. Linda Cargal told those stupid elephant jokes 1 time too many . . . Mr. Denton? Michael Fox yelled, Ya-a-a-a! 15 million times. Debbie Jo Warner asked 27,000 people to Campus Life ... 12 showed up. Mark Shiflct said My mothers gonna kill me every Friday for the last 10 years. Ms. Barnett said Fantastic 2,774,321 times a week all year. Emily Raughley sang Georgia on My Mine, to anyone who would listen. Philip Smith discovered 12 new kinds of bacteria while looking for his calculus book. Barry Panter has said, naw, to anything anyone else has said all too many times. Michele Acton has called me a dewy 15 times a day for the last year and I can't HANEL it anymore. A'wight Acton? Our records may be broken but our spirit will stay forever strong. M Central Bank s Campus Plan makes you feel like you're made of money even if you're busy earning a degree instead of a paycheck. You get Campus Plan checking with overdraft protection. So you can write a check for more than you have in your account because you'll have a line of credit of at least $ 100. Your parents can help you get Master Charge or BankAmericard. Just incase you ever need even more money in a hurry. Plus, they can even apply for a loan if you have a tuition bill, or for that matter, any other major school expense coming up. There’s an easy way your parents can transfer money from their Central office to yours. You'll have a college representative in your Central office to answer all your questions about banking. And as if that isn't enough, Central will be adding even more services shortly. But the best pan of all is that you can get everything the Campus Plan has to offer for only SI. 50 a month. So stop by your nearest Central Bank office and ask about it. Why can't you find a package like Central's Campus Plan at most other banks? Maybe for them, it’s too much like work. 0 CENTRAL BANK A bank is a bank is a bank. Hunk! !70O-29th COURT SOUTH - P.O.BOX 6105 HIK.MtNC.HAM.
